The DTA signed between Indonesia and Suriname was forwarded to Suriname's National Assembly for its approval on March 5, 2013.

Indonesia and India signed a Protocol on July 27, 2012, to add information exchange provisions to their bilateral DTA.

According to preliminary media reports, South Korea and Indonesia have agreed to commence negotiations towards revising their existing DTA, including to add tax information exchange provisions.

Indonesia has ratified a number of its pending DTAs, including with Suriname on March 5, 2012, with Zimbabwe and Hong Kong, on March 2, 2012, with Croatia, on February 24, 2012, and with Papau New Guinea on February 23, 2012.

During a meeting on January 24, 2012, the governments of Indonesia and Estonia agreed to begin negotiations towards a double tax agreement.

According to preliminary media reports, the Indonesian tax authority has confirmed its intention to enter into negotiations with Germany and the Netherlands to revise their existing DTAs.

According to the Malaysian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, an amending protocol to the DTA between Malaysia and Indonesia is to be signed at the 8th Malaysia-Indonesia Annual Consultation on October 20, 2011.

According to a statement from the Bermudan government, a Tax Information Exchange Agreement was signed with Indonesia on June 22, 2011.

According to an Isle of Man Treasury release, a Tax Information Exchange Agreement was signed with Indonesia on June 22, 2011.

Treaty Update: Bermuda - Indonesia


According to Bermuda's governing party, Bermuda has signed a TIEA with Indonesia. The TIEA provides for the full exchange of information on criminal and civil tax matters. Negotiations first took place a year ago.

Treaty Update: Guernsey - Indonesia


In Indonesia, the TIEA applies to income tax and VAT. In Guernsey the TIEA applies to income tax and dwellings profit tax. The TIEA provides for the exchnage of informationr elevant to the administration and enforcement of domestic tax laws, and the determination, assessment and collection of taxes, the recovery and enforcement of tax claims, and the investigation/prosecution of tax matters. The TIEA also provides for the exchange of information held by banks and other financial institutions, and information regarding the ownership of companies, partnerships, and, in certain cases, collective investment schemes, trusts and foundations. The TIEA also contains a mutual assistance procedure and a mutual agreement procedure.
